Blast-Tastic 2017!

Last Saturday, Echidna Games ventured into the big wide world of convention demonstration for the first time...

And we had a blast!

Blast-Tastic is run by Michael from Angel Barracks and 2017 was to be its final year.  The idea for this last outing - something a little different to previous years - was to make the show a smaller affair, offering businesses like ours the opportunity to demonstrate and (hopefully) sell their wares to the public.

Our demo table - conspicuously purple!
With the show being SciFi-themed, we went armed with a table and sufficient figures to demo both Laserblade and Alien Worlds, using just the one setup for either game.  As it turned out, we played Laserblade exclusively but this was no problem for us as everybody that tried it seemed to really enjoy it!

Me prattling on about something!
The event was small; us and maybe another seven or eight other exhibitors.  I don't think there was an enormously high turnout of visitors but we were kept busy the whole time and just about everyone that tried Laserblade bought a printed copy of it so we're calling it a success!  It was quite a buzz to watch strangers enjoying something that we'd created and I think we have the convention bug now.  We'll be checking the calendar for shows to attend next year!

Many thanks to Michael and Samantha for running the event and to Dave (friend, playtester and inventor of the "valour check") for helping me demo.

To the next show!
